How Much Do You Know API Standards in Pipelines ?

A pipe is a device for conveying a fluid, such as a gas, a liquid, or a solid particle with a pipe, a pipe joint, and a valve. Generally, the fluid through the blower, compressors, pumps and boilers, such as pressurized, from the pipeline high-pressure to the low, can also use the pressure of the fluid itself or gravity transport. The pipe types commonly used in China's pipeline are spiral submerged arc welded pipe (SSAW), straight seam submerged arc welded pipe (LSAW), Resistance welded pipe (ERW). When the diameter is less than 152mm, the seamless steel tube is selected.

China from the late 1960s to 70, the rapid development of spiral welded pipe factory, almost all of the crude oil pipelines using spiral welded steel pipe, ' west-East gas pipeline ' in a type of region also selected spiral welded steel pipe. The disadvantage of spiral welded steel pipe is that the internal stress is big, the dimension precision is poor, and the probability of producing defects is high. According to expert analysis, we should adopt ' two legs ' approach, one is to the existing spiral welded pipe plant active technical renovation, or a great future, the second is to vigorously develop China's direct seam submerged arc welding control industry.

ERW Steel pipe has been widely used at home and abroad because of its characteristics of smooth appearance, high dimensional precision and low price.
